a UFO

Perhaps I don't really need it, but the price was simply too cheap to let it go. Here's the photo of the UFO:
AirPort Extreme Base Station (model A1034)

It's an old Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station (model A1034) released in January 2003 which makes aD 12 (our Don was born in 1991, hence aD 0 is 1991). It supports 802.11b/g only, with wreless data rate up to 54 Mbps. 802.11g is a ten-year-old technology, clearly it is a technology rejected by our Don these days. Unfortunately, I have a few old Macs that only have AirPort (not the Extreme) which means the even slower 802.11b since they were made before 2003.

Unlike our Don who lives in picturesque Quincy near beautiful Boston, I need to have a few wireless routers. Our Don's picturesque Quincy or beautiful Boston is very spacious, but here in Sydney, a very dense location. To have a satisfactory Wi-Fi network, I need to hook up quite a few routers to create a strong network. Here's a diagram of all my other Wi-Fi routers.

Antony's network

All those devices are capable of 802.11n which is the speed and the standard approved by our Don. Apart from the AirPort Express, the rest are all linked by Ethernet CAT 6 cable for better Roaming network. This UFO shaped router will join the network and will provide 802.11b (only) for my old Macs.
