a poor man's (another) printer (Epson WorkForce WF-7520)

We all know that Antony is poor. Therefore he decided to change his A3+ printer. Oh, before we get started, A3 is international standard in paper size which is measured 297 by 420mm roughly similar to Ledger or Tabloid size Don's American standard.

Some of you might remember that I have an A3+ photo printer - Epson Stylus Photo 1410bought in late 2009. It was a great printer. Six ink colours, good results. Except it's about time for upgrading. So here's the new printer: Epson WorkForce WF-7520:

Epson WorkForce WF-7520

Please excuse the messy floor, unlike Don, I am not a super tidy person.

What was wrong with Epson Stylus Photo 1410. Nothing, still works great like the first day. Except since I bought Epson's bargain printer - NEX-125, I really like the output of it. NEX-125 is only 4-colour, definitely not as vivid as 6-colour inkjet in Epson Stylus Photo 1410, and much much slower (after all, it's a budget model), but do I like it?

It's ink is pigment based which is really water resistance and smear-resistance. I ran the water through the print out, the paper curved, but the print stays.

Since OfficeWorks has Epson WorkForec WF-7520 on special. I bagged home one (came with extra-high capacity of ink sets). Other reasons are being the ability of printing double-sized (automatically) and an A3 scanner. Oh, it's wireless and compatible with Apple's AirPrint.

We do, unfortunately, have to print quite a few A3 printouts. This printer is cheaper than two sets of inks used in Epson 1410. In other words, it saves money.

These days, you have to spend money to save money.
