we all love conduits

Many of you know that I have a glass desk, Zed Desk from Freedom. There's a cost of using glass desk... the it's easy to see what's underneath.

previous setup

From the old photo above, you can see the mess under the desk. Which of course, I never tried to focus that area.

Unfortunately with my poorman's setting, there are quite a fair bit of cords and cables going under the Zed Desk. Apple did a great job on reducing the number of cables. For each 27-inch LED Cinema Display, there's a power cord, and a 3-in-1 combined cable for mini-DisplayPort, USB and power charging cable (for MacBook Air/Pro). However, life is not that easy, there are cables for the surge protector powerboards, ethernet cables, and more USB cables. The cords/cables could be quite messy.

I did have a cheaper IKEA cable solution to organise them, but I upgraded to a better solution.

(picture follows)

And the new solution? proper conduits

I bought some proper conduits from Bunnings, and one extra mini-DisplayPort extension cable from Apple Online Store, so the the current cables so the cables can go around in the nice route.

Here's the photo of the tidied up area under the Zed Desk.

tidied up with conduits

Unlike the lucky Don with spacious room in beautiful Boston and picturesque Quincy, tidying up cables do make the room look a whole lot better.

Nice job of cable tidying indeed.
I actually did a little cable tidying at my place too!
I switched the powerboard from the back of the desk, to the front of the desk back-board, so now I can push it closer to the wall. Quite invisible in general.

Hi guys,
Thank you for this a tremendous info.I'm so blissful that I discovered this text and I need to inform you that when I communicate with http://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-Protector-USB-Ports-Electrical-Smartphones/dp/B00UUS78IY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432279660&sr=8-1&keywords=surge+protector+with+usb they advised me that in the event you worth your private home leisure system then you're loopy to not get a surge protector. Energy surges can destroy your tools, and electrical interference can negatively impact sound and film quality. The Monster 121866-00 Surge Protector is in reality not at a premium value regardless of the actual fact it is a prime quality unit with some glorious premium features.
