Don's approved gadget: RFID shield

It is very rare that Don would approve anything I acquire. I am pretty sure he would this time. In fact, this is the product/gadget he endorses... RFID shields.

The very high tech Don enjoys the latest technology (particularly those from anything associated with the words: open source), he somehow is pretty selective (anything associated with Apple is rejected by Don automatically). Somehow, the RFID (Radio-frequency identification or better known as contactless payment technology) is not in his approved list.

Well, during a boring day, I ended up browsing Identity Stronghold website, and my first reaction was Don's super-strong protection on his credit card. In short, he shields his credit card as well as his (previous) wallet.

So, I ordered a pack with 8 RFID blocking sleeves for credit cards and 2 RFID sleeves for passwords. They arrived today.

I personally enjoy using MasterCard's PayPass contactless payment system, easy and fast, it is really convenience. However, I certain do not wish to be the victim of credit card fraud. (Apart from PayPass, Coles and Kmart now allow no-PIN, no-signature for credit card transactions of value under $35, which is another convenient thing.)

(Just about a day or two after I ordered this RFID shields, Channel Nine's National Nine News aired an identity-concerned story using some of above video footage.

Anyhow, it is good to have an additional layer of protection.

Thanks for taking time for sharing this article; it was excellent and very informative. Excellent. Wonderful. What is interesting here is not just info, but style of presentation of information. Though you make some very fascinating points, you’re going to have to do more than bring up a few things that may be different than what we’ve already heard. Thank you.
