two's better than one part 14: bargain keyboards

Many of you (except our good friend Don who refuses to believe so) know that Antony is a bargain hunter.

Recently, Dick Smith Electronics has Apple Wireless Keyboard on special for only $50, Apple Magic Trackpad on special for only $50 and Apple Magic Mouse on special for only $50. (Unlike Don's United States of American, the prices are tax-inclusive). Those items were used to be AU$99 each from Apple Online Store (Australia) and authorised resellers. Not long ago, Apple dropped the prices of those items to AU$75 each due to strong Australian dollar. So that's a good saving of $25 or 33% off if you buy them from Dick Smith Electronics.

I did miss out the bargain at Disk Smith Electronics, but I got myself those for the same price.

The problem, the prices were so good to most Apple users, and Dick Smith Electronics quickly sold out online and in many stores.

Two days later, Officeworks quickly followed. I went to the Officeworks in Glebe, and they sold out there, so I made a special trip to Five Dock store and got those. I bagged two home, why? To make more saving, you simply need to buy more.

Why do I need two? Easy. One for the iPad 2 (previous entry), and one for the Mac mini server (previous entry).

The moral of this entry: Antony is poor. Antony waited until Apple drops the price (from $99 to $75), and he continue to wait until it is even cheaper ($50).
