no wonder millions of people wish they were Americans

On Sunday night's Border Security, I as usual, watched with extra attention on those minor details. This time, it was an Ethiopian-born American entering Australia with an online issued visa. According to Wikipedia, Ethiopia is somewhere in Africa.

Immigration decided to interview this Ethiopian-born American, and he claimed that he came to Australia to visit his wife (which later proven not his wife or any relative at all) and his son (which he does not even know the full name or date of birth of his son, he claimed).
This Ethiopian-born American was not happy that Immigration dared to ask him questions (according to him, giving him hard time), he even threatened the immigration officer that he would call the American Embassy.

There's the partial transcript:

Ethiopian-born American: But you give me a hard time why?

Immigration officer: You applied for the visa online. It's given to you electronically. Your electronic visa is not assessed.

Ethiopian-born American: Why?

Immigration officer: When you come here at the border, we can actually interview you and assess you whether you are a genuine visitor.

Ethiopian-born American: Why you give me a hard time? Why do you abuse me? Why? You abuse me.
I am an American citizen. I need my embassy.

Of course, it is so nice being an American citizen. Being American citizens, they can yell out that they are American citizens, a very powerful thing in a lot of countries. Benefits of being an American citizen seem to be endless.

Now, here's a very good answer on benefits of being an American citizen:

Question: i'm an immigrant and i haven't applied to being a american citizen. what benefits does being one give me?

Answer: Well, unfortunately for you Is, if you are of Latino descent, even if your ancestors were here before this was America, probably none...

People here who say that you'll get respect, look at someone who 'looks' Hispanic and assumes they are illegal anyway, so if you're Latina, why bother?

Some might disagree with that, except it points out the reality unreservedly. Sad, but true.

No wonder millions of people not just wish to they were Americans, but many of them also wish they were born white.
