finally an Apple TV

Thank you Santa, we finally got an Apple TV.

I have been thinking about getting an Apple TV since it first announced in January 2007 and first released in mid March 2007. Although not a popular gadget from Apple, Apple TV integrates the music, photos, movies into the living room nicely.

Apple TV

In September 2010, Apple announced the updated Apple TV, and I decided that we need one. So I sent a letter to Santa.

Yes, it was one of the gift wrapped in one of the beautiful Apple Signature Gift Boxes in the small number of presents.

Comparing to Sony PlayStation 3 (with Play TV), Apple TV cannot record TV shows (EyeTV does a great TV recording), however, the navigation and integration with my networked media is much much better than PlayStation.

Santa was very thoughtful, not, just the Apple TV, but also the HDMI cable for the Apple TV.

It's beautifully small, integrates nicely with media contents on my Mac. Well, I will need to convert more TV shows/movies into my iTunes.

And the actual setup:

Sorry Don, our TV is small.

Rev. Dr. Wu Yi,
What do you mean "business as usual"? Well, there will be something new this year.

Don't worry, Microsoft is rumoured to have very advanced Windows for set-top boxes available to compete against Apple TV and Google TV.

Except I don't want a Microsoft set-top box, or any set-top box for that matter. I run Xbox Media Center (to Antony: XBMC is free software and is NOT in any way affiliated with Microsoft, and doesn't even run on the stock Xbox unless you jailbreak it), and I'm very happy with it.

I mean that, even though the year and the decade has changed, you will continue with your constant purchasing of gadgets to amaze your adoring audience!

Remember, Sydney is not as exciting or colourful as beautiful Boston/picturesque Quincy/reputable Rochester. People need to do some thing here. Hence, there will be a very small purchases of second grade gadgets (unlike Don, I don't demand the top models, I don't demand best of the bests.)

It's not all fun and games in Boston, and lack of excite or color isn't a good reason to compensate with spending and spending anyway.
I don't demand the top-of-the-line, I've told and proved that to you time and time again.

I don't spend and spend. You don't expect a poor guy spend and spend. A poor guy like me hunt for bargains all the time.
And you also told me that you wanted the very powerful Nokia N900, nothing less.
