a poor man needs a bag

Like many other Australians, I am hunting for a suitable bag to fit something that's not as big as a regular 13-, 15- or even 17-inch laptop, but certainly a bit too big for the pocket. Since I am not carrying 5.2 kg weight of additional batteries, I don't need a big bag, but I still need a suitable bag to carry a few other smaller items such as old fashioned pen and paper. (to Don: I still use pen and paper, unlike you, I am not that digital generation into everything digital.)

Some of you may remember that I have a small collection of Crumpler bags. I have been looking at the Crumpler website, and they don't have one yet. So the search of a poor man's bag begins.

So far this bag interests me.

I am still looking for other options. It seems to me that a low profile but good looking, right size and functional bag is hard to find in Sydney. After all, this is not beautiful Boston/picturesque Quincy.

BTW, there's still one more week to wait until the very important 28th May.

Don't you have enough bags already?
Also, didn't we just disprove the 'Don doesn't use pen and paper' thing?

Well, I don't think I have half as many bags you have. Further, I don't have a bag that fits into this particular size - not too big, not too small.
Well, I believe that you were mostly scanning handouts, not your notes. Or you use pen and paper occasionally, certainly not as much as I did back then.

You have many many more bags than I do. I have a laptop bag, a duffel bag, and a backpack - that's it. There are even photos on this blog proving you have more than that.
I was scanning the handouts and some of the notes. I didn't scan anything in the (paper) notebooks, since those aren't difficult to keep around. However, I did quite a bit of writing on the handouts as well, on the order of around 30 or 40 sheets a week just for Calculus.

Well, it's hard to get a suitable bag here.
We did not get that many handouts before. We copied from the blackboard (not whiteboard).
When I did the scanning back then, most were my notes (from the notebook), as not many printed handouts.
