back to normal, daylight saving ends

daylight saving ends

What a relief thing - the US-led extended version of daylight saving ended this morning! It has been a very long and very hot summer. Remember to check your clocks for all devices, particularly those not powered by modern operating systems such as Mac OS X or iPhone OS.

Well, nothing much from me. Laurent and I returned from a short break in Kangaroo Valley. It was nice there. One interesting thing I noticed, they are not sort of churches, but unlike beautiful Boston, they don't even have a bank there. Only one ATM machine in a local pub. Most shops accept credit cards (and EFTPOS), however, American Express and Diners Club aren't that popular unfortunately.

And the big news today - iPad is launched in Don's United States of America. News headline says that many Australians were in New York, lining outside the Apple Store for iPads. (to Don: Antony is poor, he does not have an iPad.)

There's a photo from the Boylston Street Apple Store in Don's beatuful Boston. (from TUAW)

Back to the daylight saving topic, to my surprise, even a small radio clock I bought in August 2009 has a DSL button. Just one press, the time's back to normal!

And if you are going to get an iPad, don't forget the invisibleSHIELD for your latest gadget!

Daylight saving is an unwelcome intrusion in my opinion.
Now that people have to work long hours or work two jobs just to get by, they no longer have the need for more "leisure daylight"!

It is well known that retailers are the biggest winners. People still switch the lights on during daytime.
