it takes 35 minutes for 3.5km ride on Sydney's bus
Unlike the public transport system in beautiful Boston, Sydney's public bus service is simply appalling. It takes 35 minutes to travel just 3.5km (which is 2.17 miles in American units). The Daily Telegraph has the report.
The survey of more than 2000 people found more than half of Sydneysiders who do not use public transport would do so if it was convenient, reliable and faster.
And the follow up on scrapping Sydney CBD Metro, the American-born Premier has admitted the project has wasted $271 million on tax-payer's money. With compensation on top, the waste on tax-payer's compensation can be easily over $330 million. Also on Sunday, the American-born Premier said 31 strategic bus corridors have been delivered. Yesterday, the opposition researched and revealed that only 6 bus corridors have been completed. In other words, the American-born Premier lied and misled the public. (Well, we all love the opposition.)
As a test, it was faster to walk than taking the bus. Not all Sydney buses have air-condition fitted in, it is pretty uncomfortable in hot summer days.
