tow for 12 dollars

one for 6.90, tow for 12

One tea towel costs $6.90, you can get discounts by getting "tow" for $12. (Many other similar signs in the same shop all said "two".)

I took the following photo in New Zealand. I am pretty sure that arrogant native English speakers' favourite Engrish.com website wouldn't have a photo like this for two main reasons:
(1) The mistake wasn't made by Asian speakers, it was by speakers with English as native language - hence they consider that as 'genuine mistake';
(2) It wasn't taken in one of those Asian countries being targeted by Engrish.com or like sites.
In plain words, to those arrogant native English speakers, the mistakes in English can be classified into two categories: genuine or acceptable mistakes (by native speakers or Europeans/westerners) and laughable (and should be ridiculed) mistakes (mistakes by Asians)

Engrish.com is well known for targeting Asian's non-perfect English. I believe it is safe to say that Asian languages do not share many similarities as European languages with English. And for many Asians, the sounds "r" and "l" may be hard to distinguish. It is true that not all Asians were well educated in English speaking environment or have opportunity to master English. And their broken English is without a doubt a great source of jokes for arrogant native English speakers' favourite Engrish.com website.

Furthermore, people in Asia usually tried very hard to provide signs for English speakers, occasionally, people who made the signs do not speak perfect English, or simply do not have enough resource or time to have the English translations carefully verified. The result is something being referred to as “Chinglish” where they simply translate word by word without following proper sentence structure and in many cases, not the best choice of words. Arrogant native English speakers at Engrish.com showed absolutely no appreciations to those who tried to provide information (in signs) for English speakers.

On the behalf of all those being insulted by Engrish.com site, it is my honour that my humble blog can mention something back on arrogant native English speakers' favourite Engrish.com website. Antony does not speak English.

Arrogant native English speakers' beloved Engrish.com (and other like sites) do enjoy picking up slightly incorrect English used by a certain group of non-native speakers.
I simply found some suitable material to balance the fact of constant insulting/ridiculing from those arrogant native English speakers who are usually white.

I hope you're not implying that all English speakers are arrogant, ant!

No. Not all English speakers are arrogant, but there's a certain group of (white) arrogant ones who won't hesitate on flaunting with words like: their mother tongue is the world language (to foreign students).
