bloody bus strike

ZZ5944755C.jpg

Well, you feel extra pain particularly when you don't have the car, and have a few big shoppings needed to be done.

Sydney's traffic was a chaos today. All public buses are on strike. All major roads were filled with extra cars. People who suffered the most? Those who don't have a car like us. (Well, the car is still under the assessment by insurance.)

The unfortunate part of today's story... we have to do some big shoppings for the classes. It was not usually an issue, rather sort of routine routes. However, we couldn't possibly carry all those items back home on foot in one trip. Instead of visiting the usual stores, we had to find some alternative closer ones. Still, we made three trips, and cost us quite a fair bit extra.

It would be nice if we were like rich American families with multiple cars per household, particularly with BMWs!

(to Don: Antony is poor.)

You're still trying to make it sound like you guys don't have a car, even though you do and it's just in for repairs. That's like calling yourself homeless because you're putting an addition on your house.

When you don't have access to a car, it is the same as not having a car!

If you don't stop all this BS Antony, I'm going to have to come over there and bitch-slap you stupid!!

Please show some sympathy to those who don't have comfy vehicles, and had to rely on the very unreliable public transport.

Try not having access to a car, and living in an area with no public transport and with nothing in walking distance. Not fun.

See, JOHN makes a very valid point. You live at the very epicentre of inner-city dwelling, where everything is convenient!

You missed out the key points. This is not beautiful Boston with excellent public transport system.
Further, even back in Remote Village, the Donkey Express isn't very frequent, usually late, and might take extra long lunch break, but they never go on strike for entire 24 hours.

"Excellent public transport system?" I guess you forgot that they've randomly closed the trains while I was going somewhere, and had to walk the rest of the way.

Antony, you fail to see that even in remote villages you have public transport. Also, you live in a city. Where everything is in walking distance! Even if it's inconvenient you have it! In order for me to go anywhere other than the library, my school or the post office I need to walk 10+ miles or beg someone with a car for a ride.
