30-inch or 27-inch

Well, I was bored and looking at some specs.

the 30-inch display is 2560-by-1600 pixel resolution (16:10) for the price tag of $1799 USD (or A$2499). And the 27-inch display has resolution of 2560-by-1440 pixel (16:9) but the computer is built-in 3.06 Core 2 Duo costs only $1699 USD (or A$2199). The 27-inch model can also be used as an external display with a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.

So, if you plan to use either one as an external display, you can save $100 USD (or A$300) by getting the 27-inch instead of 30-inch with similar resolution. (BTW, $100 USD is about A$110 at today's exchange rate) Of course, you can't use the 30-inch display by itself.

So, there's a thought. You can hook up your high definition output of Sony PlayStation 3 or Microsoft Xbox 360 to the 27-inch display, and perhaps also capture some priceless moments.

Of course, if you think the 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is not powerful enough, you can dump it up to 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 or even 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7.

BTW, I was referring to Apple Cinema HD Display (30-inch flat panel) and the 27-inch iMac. I guess Don has figured that out long before. And I am not planning on getting either one any time soon (yet). I am still use my over three years old iMac. (to Don: Antony is poor.)

BTW, does anyone know how to capture a screenshot in PlayStation 3?
