wireless is back

wireless on

On Thursday I mentioned that my Time Capsule stopped working. I was unable to power it on at all. Today I visited Apple Store, and they replaced the Time Capsule for me, even though it was out of warranty already.

Thank you Apple! Great service.

It is a good idea not to hack or crack the hardware yourself. Contact the company first, and use your warranty. Sometimes they will even replace the device which is out of warranty.

Unlike some geeks who prefer to hack/crack the hardware themselves, or don't even bother to use the official warranty service for some unknown reason. I always contact the service provider, and so far, all my experiences (on warranty service) have been very positive. For reference, my PowerBook G4's hard disk failed once, however, it was replaced under warranty. I, of course, sent it back for warranty service. My iPod also stopped working once, and I got a replacement under warranty (AppleCare Protection Plan). My Sony alpha 350 screen cracked, they fixed it under the original warranty without any charges. As for Epson, the Epson Perfection V30 scanner stopped working for some unknown reason, and I got a replacement under warranty.

I strongly recommend everybody to get additional warranty when available.

how far out of warranty was your time capsule?

Posted by Sam on 8 November 2009 11:50 AM.
Bought in April 2008 from Mac1, Apple does not sell AppleCare Protection Plan for Time Capsule. Hence, only the original 1 year warranty.

Hi,
The warranty always matters to get proper service from the vendors.By the way,the companies are also responsible to give proper service in such warranty periods.
