I've been trying very hard on telling Don that race is still a big issue (which he refuses to acknowledge that). Here's the latest news from United States of America: an interracial (black and white)'s marriage license was denied.

AN interracial couple in Louisiana have been denied a marriage license by an official who considers their union morally wrong, according to local media.

"I'm not a racist," Keith Bardwell, a justice of the peace in rural Tangipahoa Parish, told the Hammond Star.

"I do ceremonies for black couples right here in my house. My main concern is for the children.''
Mr Bardwell told the paper that he believes interracial marriages do not last and that the children of such unions are not accepted by either the black or white community.

"I don't do interracial marriages because I don't want to put children in a situation they didn't bring on themselves,'' Mr Bardwell told the paper.

"In my heart, I feel the children will later suffer.''

To many, the saying “Once you go black, you don't go back” is always very true.

Mr Bardwell does have a point. The kids of interracial couples would normally not be accepted in either group. The kids are likely to be too dark for the white group, and too white for the black group either. In plain words: not pure.
