Woolworths' new logo look too Apple-ish?

Recently, Australia's supermarket giant Woolworths has gone through rebranding, this includes the change of logo. Somehow, Apple Inc. (the Apple Inc. Don hates) thinks that the new logo is too similar to Apple's logo.

Apple has lodged a complaint to IP Australia, the authority that handles all the trademarks and logos.

Some said that the new Woolworths logo looks like a peeled apple in a ‘W’ shape. However, who's going to confuse the two logos between Woolworths supermarket with Apple for computers, iPods and iPhones?

(Sorry Don, I know you would jump to bash Apple.) In comparison, Microsoft did something much worse. They demanded the domain name owned by a then 17-year-old boy. Apple does not target an individual (nor a minor) like Microsoft did. The case happened in January 2004. A (then) 17-year-old student named Mike Rowe started his own company called MikeRoweSoft.com. Microsoft said he couldn't use his own name for business, and used lawyer's dirty tactic on a minor. Thanks to the bad publicity generated by internet community, Microsoft was later forced to apologise the "threats" used by Microsoft's lawyers to a 17-year-old boy.
