Kindle is coming to Australia

According to iTWire, Amazon's popular Kindle e-book device is coming to Australia (and more other countries). Americans have enjoyed the digital era or reading on devices such as Kindle, it is finally making its way to Australia. Many of today's modern age high tech kids embrace digital technology so well. They hate printed books.

6-inch Kindle will be available in Australia, while the 9.7-inch Kindle is exclusive to the US. Kindles will be available outside USA after 19th October. As for me, I don't think I am jumping into Kindle anytime soon. Getting one soon, Don?

Currently, there's no Amazon Australia yet. Buying books (physically printed) from Amazon is not that cheap due to shipping cost. However, in many situations, it might be still cheaper than getting the same title from local bookstore.

You should not imply that I ever said I hated printed books. I merely commented that they often cost more than their digital counterparts.
I'm probably not going to bother with a Kindle or similar device. Sony has (had? it's been awhile since I checked) a nice model, but I just can't see any good reason to buy an e-book reader at all.

Most proper e-book reader features digital paper... Unlike LCD screens, it is quite easy to read.

I think its great, the iphone is way too small to read more than headlines, just a pity we are not getting the best version available. I wonder how this might affect the plans by Rupert Murdoch to stonewall Google News?
