colourful Mountain Dews

No wonder Don loves his Mountain Dews so much. Presenting colourful Mountain Dews:

(Obviously, the photo above is joined from 6 shots in Photoshop. However, each photo is real, no colour agents were added, no other manipulations to the photo.)

I hope the photos in this entry will get Don's approval.

Some photos of those colourful Mountain Dews.

All above photos were untouched, except the 1st one was joined (as mentioned earlier), and no food colouring, colour agents were used at all. (except watermarking and resizing)
This is the setup:
Mountain Dew poured out of the bottle, into a soft drink glass.

Sorry Don, it is a bit hard to get Mountain Dews in cans here in Sydney.

Well, you also need following small gadget to get the colourful Mountain Dews, a coaster. I am pretty sure that this wonderful coaster will receive Don's approval.

If I do have the honour of receiving Don's visit to Sydney, I will make sure I have stored enough Mountain Dews in the fridge. And I will let Don use the wonderful coaster since I only have one. (to Don: Antony is poor.)

BTW, I still prefer Coca-Cola, the original flavour.

Don't worry, either I use a coaster made out of a CD that failed to burn properly, or just don't use one at all. No need for fancy light-up novelty coasters.

You missed out the point. The coaster is nowhere 'novelty'. It is my duty to use the most suitable product to serve the VIP guest.

As a geek myself, I see no geek appeal whatsoever to a light-up coaster. I would call it excessively "fancy" and "useless" too.

It is a normal coaster shape coaster and average thickness. It provides colour output that makes your room more interesting. In other words, nothing 'fancy' and definitely 'useful'.

The color output is the "fancy" and "useless" part.
Anyway, you should know that in the rare event that I use a coaster, I just use an old CD that I would have otherwise thrown out.

You should use a coaster whenever you can, so you don't leave a mark on your expensive table/desk/etc.
Don't you think the regular size CD/DVD is a bit too big for such task?

The top of my desk is plastic. Even if it does make a mark, I can just wipe it off later. Again, it was not expensive, as it is fifty or sixty years old by now.
If a regular size optical disc is too big for you, they're easy enough to cut up wit a pair of scissors.

Using scissors and leave the sharp edge of the CD/DVD and get your hand cut.
Also, this coaster can make your Mountain Dew attractively colourful. A must have gadget for geeks who drink Mountain Dew.

On the off chance that you need to cut the CD down to size, and on the even more off chance that it becomes dangerously sharp as a result of doing so, just file down the side. I guarantee you, cutting it down and filing it will not take as much time as going to a store and buying special coasters.
I somehow get the feeling that the "geeks who drink Mountain Dew" would rather the CD coaster than the novelty light-up coaster.
