more 3G areas with Vodafone

VodafoneAn exciting news for Vodafone users, Vodafone's 3G coverage upgrade has been completed, according to Australian IT.

Previously Vodafone’s network only reached 80 per cent of the population but the upgrade has extended coverage to Kununurra in WA, Port Douglas in Queensland and Devonport in Tasmania.

“Vodafone’s great value 3G services are now available to Australians living and working in regional cities and towns, as well as business travellers and holiday-makers who need to stay connected,” Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) chief executive Nigel Dews said.

From the coverage map, although still nowhere matches the excellent coverage in beautiful Boston and historic Rochester, it has been improved a lot. It seems that towns among eastern coastline are now covered in either 3G network or EDGE network.

My Vodafone's Mobile Broadband will be more useful in many places. My iPhone 3G is also with Vodafone.

Still, Telstra's coverage is unbeatable by others. When travelling, it is still wise to get use Telstra's Mobile Broadband if you want to stay connected, or perhaps also get a Telstra SIM for mobile phone (just redirect all your calls to the Telstra SIM).
