28 August, 2009Snow Leopard hath arrived!
The big news of today, my copy of Mac OS X v.10.6 ‘Snow Leopard’ has arrived just few minutes ago. Snow Leopard is a huge refinement update to the highly successful Mac OS X v.10.5 ‘Leopard’. (as usual, more photos follow...) Mac OS X v.10.6 ‘Snow Leopard’ is a refinement to Mac OS X v.10.5 ‘Leopard’, it is focused on improvement rather than another whole new sets of features. For the record, the release of Snow Leopard is a lot more than 1 year after the release of Leopard. There are a huge number of Mac bashers claiming Apple is taxing users $129 per year for staying up-to-date with the Mac operating system. (see this example) This is clearly not true. Also, the cost of ‘Snow Leopard’ is merely US$29. Furthermore, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP, and Windows Vista are never released as free upgrade. Time to install Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard now. (to Don: Antony is poor.) Mac OS X v10.6 ‘Snow Leopard’ requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and an Intel-based Mac. It is available for only US$29 or AU$39 (in Australia). related blog entry: Join the discussion - “Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard” at SillyDog701 Message Centre Posted by Antony on 28 August 2009 12:50 PM

Have fun. I'm hoping my copy arrives today.

Thank you.
I am sure you will love the Snow Leopard.

And you say I rush for the latest? I didn't upgrade to Vista for over a year. On top of that, I kept using Windows 98 through the ME/2000 days and the first two years of the XP era. You, on the other hand, have been getting the last few Mac OS X releases the day they come out.

Don, you missed out the point again.
Your Microsoft Windows Vista ULTIMATE has a list price of US$399, while Snow Leopard is only US$29. Posted by Antony on 29 August 2009 12:16 PM.
Why do I get the feeling that when you live at someone else's behest, spending money on all forms of gadgetry is not a problem?

And you have never been able to accept that my copy of Vista Ultimate was FREE, not $399 as you keep trying to suggest.

Ant,
Always rushing for the latest, but never admitting it...Price is irrelevant in your argument. Don is correct. Sam. Posted by Sam on 30 August 2009 2:03 PM.
Of course the price tag is always important.
Don's Microsoft Windows Ultimate is worth a LOT more than 10 copies of Snow Leopard. Furthermore, I am still using Leopard (10.5.8) on this iMac. Posted by Antony on 30 August 2009 2:10 PM.
You make it sound like I am somehow at fault for winning a copy of Vista.
I would like to add that I am still running Windows NT on my old/spare laptop. (I will mention that was somebody's trash before you go "WOW! Rich!") Posted by Don_HH2K on 30 August 2009 10:40 PM.
No, but for the fact that Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate cost a lot more than Snow Leopard.
Furthermore, my PowerBook G4 is still running Tiger (10.4). Posted by Antony on 31 August 2009 3:17 PM.
Remember that, in terms of the time period, Windows NT translates roughly to Mac OS 8, and Windows Server 2003 (running on my server, still haven't found a reason to upgrade to 2008) is close to 10.3. Hence you still went for the newer ones.

Well, you have more computers which means more licenses of Microsoft Windows operating systems. And we all know the prices of Windows is much much higher than Mac OS X.

I’ve heard there are some wildlife groups trying to get Apple to do more stuff with the actual S.L.’s lol. I don’t know- people are saying it’s good PR for Apple- they should jump on that.
