dirty trains in Sydney
From yesterday's news. Unlike beautiful Boston and picturesque Quincy, Sydney's CityRail (trains) and stations are way below the standards. NSW Premier Nathan Rees is spending $2.4 millions to add another 32 cleaners to clean the dirty trains and 15 hot-spot stations.
However, there's a catch. Majority of train stations that would be cleaned are located in government's electorates, and only two stations in Opposition electorates would be cleaned.
Opposition Leader Barry O'farrell pointed out that on CityRail's own list of the 10 dirtiest stations, 7 of them would not be cleaned by Premier's extra funding.
The moral of the news... Want your train station sparkling clean? Make sure your local electorate is represented by the same party as the governing party in NSW.
(to Don: Unlike beautiful Boston and picturesque Quincy, Sydney's trains and stations are without a doubt unacceptably dirty that the government has to spend millions of dollar to clean them.)
