18 August, 2009Sony Off Camera Cable for Flash and Magnifying EyepieceFirstly, a special thank you to Don who helped me getting those two items not available in Australia. Sony Australia does not have Magnifying Eyepiece (FDA-ME1AM) yet, and the Off-Camera Cable for Flash (FA-CC1AM) was out of stock when I last checked. I called Sony Australia, all they know was the items were out of stock and they have no idea if the items would be available in Australia. So I managed to get those from States. The Sony Magnifying Eyepiece (FDA-ME1AM) is a relatively new accessory from Sony (just out for about a month). This Magnifying Eyepiece solves the problems of Sony DSLR camera's view finder being a bit too small (a long compliant), particularly for Sony A300/A330 and A350/A380 DSLR users. (I have Sony DSLR-A350) AlphaMountWorld has a pretty good review about this product. Some of you may remember that I have two Sony Flashes (both GN58). Unlike Canon or Nikon, Sony's DSLR has built-in wireless control for Sony/Minolta flashes. (Sony uses the low power light pulses (with digital signal encoded) to control remote flashes.) I've been using the two Sony Flashes wirelessly for quite a while, which has been working quite well for me. However, there are benefits when you control the flash(es) by a cable. This main cable has been out of Sony Australia's stock for quite a while, hence I get it at the same time from the States. (to Don: The States is usually the first or one of the first countries to have new gadgets/accessories, unlike Australia. Certain products/models are even available in here in Australia.) Well, you already know what I think about this from what I wrote on the box.

What did you write? On the Customs Declaration Form? I did not notice anything strange.

If you didn't already throw out the box, take off the customs declaration form.

Something 'hidden' underneath the Customs Declaration Form?

Yes.
