digital radio switches on
Digital radio switches on today. A move towards better sound quality and more information.
To receive digital radio, you will need a new digital radio receiver, of course. It will set you back for at least $140.
The good news is, analogue radio is not switching off yet. Unlike certain extremists, I am not jumping to the latest digital radio any time soon.

I haven't actually listened to the "wireless", as we knew it, way back when, for many years now. FM was a sensation when introduced, but we are so spoilt now by technology,that "digital radio" will be unnoticed by the majority.

Rev. Dr. makes a good point - does anybody really care about digital radio when MP3 players are the norm now? When I tell people that I am listening to the radio, they usually think I am using an online service like Pandora Radio.
(To Antony: I am poor, I carry around a portable FM radio instead of an MP3 player.)

Don,
The music or even podcast on MP3 is not live. To give live music, talk, or news, you need the radio.
So, I know why carry a modern high tech radio player with you - you must have the latest (or live), not the prerecorded ones.

Modern high-tech radio player? This was my grandfather's, from the 1980s.
