'tis the eve before iPhone 3GS

Vodafone has released the outright pricing for iPhone 3GS (no contract, on prepaid): 8GB version is AU$759, 16GB version is AU$929, and the 32GB iPhone 3GS is AU$1129 outright. There are no upgrading information for current iPhone 3G owners yet.

There are a variety of upgrade options for existing customers. To learn more about upgrading, check with your existing mobile service provider for more details.

Upgrade or termination fees and other charges may apply.

At time of writing, there are Telstra's rumoured iPhone 3G S plans available. Generally speaking, Telstra's plans are expensive, but it has great coverage shall you travel out out major cities.

Last year, there were four (4) carriers in Australia selling iPhone 3G. It has been reported that Three will be selling iPhone 3GS from July this year, making a total 5 different carriers in Australia selling iPhone 3GS.

Regardless of which iPhone 3G S model or plan you get into, don't forget to get the invisibleSHIELD for iPhone 3G/3G S. Currently, invisibleSHIELD is offering a 30% off discount until end of the month.

I got my iPhone 3G on the first day of release in Australia last year on 11 July 2008.

There's only 1 GS that I acknowledge from Apple, and that's the Apple II GS.

It was (and still is) very cold outside. Perhaps you shall say that Antony is poor, he can't afford a new iPhone.

I don't know how the dealers can justify the high prices, when in the US, even given the exchange rate, they are so much cheaper.
I believe there are many superior phones on the market anyway, at better prices, but this is coming from a techno-dullard.

The prices you looked at are the ones without contracts. The iPhone price in the States comes with a contracts I beleive.
