12 May, 2009Brother label printerMany of you may remember that I bought a Brother labeller machine (Brother P-touch 1280) two years ago. Well, I bought another label machine today. The Brother P-touch 1280 is a great machine, it makes labelling very easy, especially on all the cables and cords (detail). What's wrong with the P-touch 1280 I had? Nothing, but a different labelling machine is needed (for Laurent). After some researching, we decided on getting the Brother QL-570 Label Printer. (as usual, more photos follow...) Why do I need another label machine, well, this one is for address printing and larger label printing. Laurent sends a hung number of mails everyday, and his handwriting is really ugly. There have been a number of occasions that I had to write the envelopes for Laurent. This Brother label printer works well with Mac (the first thing we checked actually), and it supports a number of labels and tapes. We bought one for the time being. Some of you may wonder why don't we simply use the laser printer for label printing task. Actually we do, but it's for return address. Once a label has been peeled off from a label sheet, it is not recommended to feed into the laser printer again. In other words, it is good for printing in huge amount, not designed for one at a time. (to Don: Antony is poor.) related blog entries: Posted by Antony on 12 May 2009 11:40 PM

The Treasurer announces a "Horror Budget", but the grasshopper continues to fiddle away his future! I seriously doubt that the income generated by ownership of these "very necessary" gadgets, ever exceeds their cost.

It was bought before the 2009 Budget announcement. This "very necessary and very useful" device is bought with cashback discount, as I hunted for the best value (I am sure that Don would approve on this). For this particular device, Laurent will be paying for it.
