6 May, 2009a vacuum cleanerLast Thursday while setting up the two Gorm shelves in the coffee room, Laurent damaged the old vacuum cleaner. We bought a replacement on Monday. The old vacuum cleaner was dropped over the stairs, resulting unable to close the vacuum cover (unable to keep the vacuum stay closed is a more accurate description), plus we were out of vacuum bags. Hence, a good excuse to acquire a new one. Here's a photo of the old vacuum cleaner - Hoover Conquest: Again, sorry for the poor quality, this photo was taken by iPhone. (As usual, more photos follow...) We bought a commercial version this time from Godfrey. The reason of getting a commercial version is that it uses a bit less power (1400W instead of common 1800W or 2400W household one) while providing similar or even stronger sucking power. And the second reason is that this vacuum is cheaper than most other household versions. (to Don: Antony is poor.) Presenting the new vacuum cleaner -- Pullman AS-3: After using it, this vacuum is a lot more powerful than the previous Hoover Conquest, and very easy to take around (drag around I shall say.) Overall, this is a cheap vacuum cleaner. Nothing fancy about it. It works. (to Don: Antony is poor.) Posted by Antony on 6 May 2009 11:32 PM

Congratulations on your new vacuum cleaner. I know what it's like to lose one, although I never murdered mine!!
However, I hate my new one and it will never last the 30 odd years the other one did. Posted by Rev.Dr.Wu Yi on 7 May 2009 11:23 AM.
Laurent wanted to change the bag, and the vacuum cleaner was dropped to downstairs...
It might last 30 years. Just use it with care. Posted by Antony on 7 May 2009 11:49 AM.
What on earth are you doing with so much coke....another '2's always better than 1' scenario? ;-)
Nice Vacuum (interesting spelling, isn't it)

Actually, I bought 3 cartons of Cokes last time. They go fast. Don knows that I don't drink Mountain Dew.

It looks like Antony and I both buy our soft drinks in bulk.
Posted by Don_HH2K on 7 May 2009 10:55 PM.
True. Except I don't buy in bottles often. (I drink soft drinks in cans at home.)

I am sure that DON drinks his Mountain Dew from a high-end crystal glass in "beautiful Boston".

I use an insulated plastic mug that I got as a Christmas present (to Antony: this reads "free gift").

You nailed it, Rev. Dr. Wu Yi. LOL.

"You nailed it...."

Thank you for confirming that Antony does not speak English.

Sarcasm is something that transcends English, you know.
Posted by Don_HH2K on 9 May 2009 6:12 AM.
You don't expect someone who doesn't speak English (or only speaks basic greetings) being able to detect or perform sarcasm, do you?
Posted by Antony on 9 May 2009 1:31 PM.
You speak English, and definitely more than basic greetings. Everybody but you knows that, remember?
Posted by Don_HH2K on 10 May 2009 3:56 AM.
Thank you for being modest and polite. But the fact is I can only speak very broken English.
Posted by Antony on 10 May 2009 1:35 PM.
No, you do not. You can stop demeaning yourself now.
Posted by Don_HH2K on 10 May 2009 1:52 PM.
There are lots of grammatical mistakes as well as spelling errors in my poor writing.
Posted by Antony on 11 May 2009 9:39 PM.
Everybody understands you, that's enough to qualify for speaking English.
Posted by Don_HH2K on 11 May 2009 10:48 PM.
You meant to say: (understands you) with difficulties, as well as laughing at back?
Posted by Antony on 11 May 2009 11:39 PM.
No, nor anything like it.
