train, photos from archive

Vintage train in Queenstown, Tas

Just some photos from the archive.

A vintage steam train in Queenstown, still running. Obviously, the technology down here is nowhere as advance as beautiful Boston's (or actually anywhere in the States).

(As usual, more photos follow...)

Laurent and I were in a historical mining town - Queenstown, Tasmania. It is so-called the capital Of Tasmania's west coast, except my mobile phone does not work there (Vodafone) if I remember correctly. They do have Telstra's mobile coverage.

(to Don: the mobile network is not available everywhere in Australia.)

Two more photos of West Coast Wilderness Railway, they were built in from different positions.

Note how you said, "historical mining town." They're not going to upgrade, because then they'd lose money on tourists.
Didn't I already tell you that most of the cars on the Boston subway were built in the '60s, '70s, and '80s? I would barely call those "advanced".

The cars on the Boston subway aren't run by coal, right?
In that comparison, perhaps not the latest cutting edge technology, but well advancing technology.

I really doubt that Sydney's subway cars are run by coal. These actually look considerably more modern (or "advancing") than ours.
