a polarizer and a charger
I took a DSLR camera walking tour by Joe Moreno at Paxtons in George Store, it was a great quick course. Although I already know quite a fair bit of the basics about cameras and DSLRs, I did learn quite a few new ways to make photo look better. (More on the camera course shortly.)
After the course, I bought a polarizer for the camera. (I am sure that Don knows a lot about polarizer) I guess I must be the one knowing polarizer the best in that group, as I majored Optics in my undergraduate. A fun game we played was simply use two polarizers and you can block the light completely, or block nothing at all. I couldn't believe that I never thought about getting one for the camera until today.
In the past, I've been avoiding using flash unless absolutely necessary (to Don: this should be read that I am cheap). Although it was generally recommended (not to fire up the flash) with point and shoot cameras for better photos, I learnt a number of ways to fire up the flash without being so obvious as well as a number of ways to improve the photos.
I am thinking that I should take some more advanced camera courses to improve my photographic skills.
Living in this modern electronic gadget era, it is very important that all our gadgets have enough power, particularly when we are outside. And I made another useful investmet for my mobile phone (aka iPhone): a car charger with a radio transmitter so that I can charge the iPhone while listening to my music while driving.
Here's the photo of Belkin TuneCast Auto for iPod and iPhone.
Last month, I bought a second set of iPhone Dock and Dock Connector to USB Cable. That set allows me to stand up and charge my iPhone in the living room. (the first iPhone Dock is in my office, next to my iMac.)
(to Don: Antony is poor.)
