Melbourne Cup Day news
Not about the next occupant of The White House, but I have some exciting news on this Melbourne Cup Day.
Remember the poor little swine Bruce who made headlines a few weeks back? He caused some trouble to Caroline, and was sent to a piggery. Also back in June, there was a big discovery on the existence of a real unicorn.
There have been a number of two headed dragons in fairy tales. It is the first time for lamb.
A lamb in the Middle East gave birth to a two headed calf (lamb). According to the news report, the West Bank farmer has been breeding lambs his entire life, but this is a first. A local vet has assured him the animal is healthy. But it's unable to feed from its mother, so is bottle fed - one head at a time.
Would you swap antelopes for pandas? or pandas for antelopes? It seems like the two countries were both happy with the deal.
Two giant pandas have made it's way from Chian to Taiwan in good health. The bears were sent from China in exchange for two small antelopes from Taiwan. They weigh over 100 kg each. (to Don: 100kg is about 220 pounds) Those two pandas were supposed to make the trip three years ago, it was delayed due to tensions between the two countries.
And today's big news in Australia... it is about Melbourne Cup of course. Viewed with jockey Blake Shinne owned the racing in a very very close win.
