10 October, 2008it's time to try PepsiIt must be something wrong with Antony. The Coca-Cola drinking Antony bought no Coca-Cola but four (4) bottles of Pepsi today from Woolworths supermarket. And to keep Don happy, he also bought a Mountain Dew, his very first Mountain Dew. From left to right: Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Light (no sugar), Pepsi Light (caffeine free, no sugar) and Mountain Dew. Originally, I wanted to get a 375ml can of Mountain Dew, but Woolworths does not have Mountain Dew in cans, so I got a 1.25L bottle. Since Mountain Dew and Pepsi are the from the same company, I decided to give Pepsi another try, hence all flavours of Pepsi available in Woolworths. It is also interesting to note that Mountain Dew has the most calories, a staggering 555 KJ (kilojoules) per serve compared to 2 - 4 KJ per serve from Pepsi Light or Pepsi Max. According to the labels, I will give the Mountain Dew a try and see if I will like it. P.S. For those who wonder, the bottles were carefully lined up and spaced in the photo above. 1 unit of space between the first two drinks, followed by 2 units of space, 3 units of space and 4 units of space. You know you will come back to Coke Zero and Sprite Zero.
I believe you are not so caffeine sensitive that you need Pepsi Light sans caffeine and sugar. Don drinks Mountain Dew because he is young, and has young people's like of sweet things and does not think about calories or kilojoules. Older folk, like the moderator of this site, have to be careful as they are putting lots of fat in their diet and living a sedentary life. BTW, Happy Birthday Antony for the 11th!! Posted by Rev. Rev. Dr. Wu Yi, you may be surprised to know that I always drink the sugar-free, zero-calorie version of Mountain Dew (or at least they market it as zero calories; it's probably rounded down to zero from two or three, which the FDA in this country unfortunately lets them do).
I actually drink it more as a coffee substitute, due to its relatively high caffeine concentration. I've been trying to kick that habit for awhile now, in part because (unlike some people) I haven't got that much money to waste on it. Posted by Don_HH2K on 10 October 2008 9:36 PM.

A "normal", or should I say "average", person should be able to drink one of two coffees or teas daily without suffering any ill effects. Try hydrating your body with fresh filtered water or even tap water and avoid fizzy drinks altogether! You are a sensible boi, and giving up what Americans call coffee, is not such a hard thing.
