Tagliatelle Pasta, Cucumber and Mint, Cheese Cassata

Paris International Cooking SchoolIt's Wednesday again! My cooking class is on today. This afternoon, I prepared three dishes as part of Laurent's Express and Tasty Cooking Class.

Here are the photos from my fourth Express and Tasty Cooking. This time, I used my soft box light tent with black background. I hope they look better this way.

Cheese “Cassata”

The dishes are:
Tagliatelle Pasta Carbonnara Style
Cucumber and Mint Salad
Cheese “Cassata”

Today's dishes are easier compared to previous weeks. Cucumber and Mint Salad were prepared with my beautiful and tasty pink salt. There's no (just) cheese used in Cheese “Cassata”, cream cheese was used. Instead of using glaceé cherries and glaceé pineapples, I used glaceé strawberries on Cheese “Cassata”.

Again, all the dishes were decorated by Laurent on square plates at my request. The golden rule for making food taste good? Put all the food on the square plates. The food not just look good on square plates, they also taste good.

Everything looks delicious and simple to prepare, even for kitchen dullards like Antony!!!

The class is called “Express and Tasty Cooking”, designed for beginners. Except you don't have nice black background and a number of square dishes to make the food look and taste good.

So, square plates against a black background will make my burned toast and underpopped microwave popcorn look and taste good? Who'd have known!

Don, one of the square plate rules is that you don't place burned items or failed food on it. You only put the best food on square plates.
