Starbucks not shinnying in Australia

I was a bit surprised with the Starbucks Coffee news today. This popular American coffee giant chain is shutting down 61 stores in Australia, leaving only 23 stores to remain open. That is almost 700 jobs gone, and about three quarters of Starbucks stores in Australia closed down.

According to news report, the company will focus the coffee business on three core markets in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

Rival coffee chain - Gloria Jean's Coffees - seems to be doing reasonably well. Personally, I prefer Gloria Jean's to Starbucks

Of course, for those who know me, I prefer my own Nespresso coffee. Although Rev. Dr. Wu Yi refuses to admit, he loves my beautiful Nespresso coffee machine and tasty Nespresso coffee.
