free upgrade

iiNetWe all love free upgrades.

iiNet sent me an email informing me that they now provides additional download quota for my account. Previously, I had 20GB download quota during peak hours (midday to 2am) and 40GB quota during off-peak hours (2am to 12pm midday). I will now get additional 5GB download quota during peak hours for free, and I don't need to change my plan.

Laurent has recently cancelled his ADSL2 account with TPG, which means my ADSL2 connection with iiNet will be shared between him and I, and we both use quite a fair bit during the day.

With the addition of Sony PS3, I am sure the internet usage will be increased as I need to update the game and firmware through PlayStation Network as well as buying games online (through PlayStation Store).

Vodafone Mobile Broadband is my backup internet connection at home and the internet for outdoor.

(To Don: Antony is poor, he does not get free internet connection.)

Erm, since when do I get free Internet access?

I don't know if you've read about Australia's recent national broadband plan that intends to bring fiber to the node for 98 percent of Australian citizens. Ideally they'd roll out VDSL2 shortly after, opening your neighborhood up to some impressive speeds.

At last something positive from the Sheriff of the ISP Nottingham Forest!I am surprised that Don knows more about what is going to happen here than we do. However,"impressive speeds" is not what this country does well!
