Nespresso Lattissima

If you've been reading my blog, you should know that my Aeroccino broke down early this month. Since then, my morning has been a hell. It's not really that bad, except that I have to get a coffee from 2 Sista cafe each morning.

When I first bought the Nespresso machine, I smartly added the 4 years extended warranty (5 years in total). This time my Aeroccino broke, it has well past the original manufacturer warranty. I contacted the extended warranty company. They called me back few days later, and they decided to replace the whole unit (not just the unit that was broken). I asked if I could upgrade to another model, the answer was yes, except they would only credit me $211 instead of $299 (the original cost of machine). It seems to me that the $211 credit is quite a good value towards a new machine, and I decided to get a new model.

Presenting Nespresso DeLonghi Lattissima EN660:

More photos of the new Nespresso machine and the setup follow... (Don't get jealous Rev. Dr. Wu Yi, I know you love my Nespresso machine)

Nespresso DeLonghi Lattissima machines are available in creamy white (EN660), red (EN660), black (EN670), and colour chrome (sliver) (EN680). Just like Apple's MacBook (not the Pro series), black cost more. According to the technical specifications, except the sliver one (EN680) which has cups heating plate which also costs more, they are all the same, except colour and price.

As you can see from the photo above, I bagged home a red one with the $211 credit from previous machine and under Harvey Norman's sale price.

As I've mentioned earlier, the upstairs kitchen is not really being used a kitchen, it is more of my coffee corner. Here is the new setup:

If you look carefully, it is not just the new Nespresso Lattissima EN660, but also a few Nespresso goodies (bought separately): Discovery box (presentation box), Petits Carrés (milk chocolate squares), Glass Espresso, Glass Lungo, Recipe Glasses (tall glasses) and Nespresso spoons.

And the coffee I made with Nespresso Lattissima machine on Thursday night.

What is so good about Nespresso: It is really very easy to use, and you don't need to clean the machine after each use. Not saying that you don't need to clean the machine at all, but unlike other regular espresso machines, you have to wipe the milk frothing nose right after each froth. With my preivous Aeroccino, although you need to rinse after each use, the cleaning is still much easier than regular espresso machine.

You might have noticed from the photos above, I use sugar sticks.

Guess what? Grumpy loves my new Nespresso coffee machine.

All froth and show. The actual coffee tastes like crap!!
We have a saying in the remote village,"if the coffee beans did not come by Donkey Express, they are unlikely to be the very best money can buy."

Rev, You know that the Donkey Express has not been very honest... Getting coffee capsules from Nespresso directly is better.
