2 April, 2008the car broke down
After brief chat with Don on iChat this afternoon. I decided to go to Rushfaster before the shop closes. (Yes, I am looking for another bag.) On the way to Rushfaster in Rosebery, it was pretty fine until the last kilometre. The car suddenly stops getting the speed. What I meant was, no matter how much accelerator I pressed, the car simply slows down. What I could do was stop the car and restart it. That way, the car worked for a few hundred metres. Anyhow, I managed to arrive Rushfaster before they close, and bought a backpack. (It's a very good backpack.) Now, the trouble came. I had to go home, and the car stopped or slowed down much more frequent. Worst of all, it was during peak traffic hour. Although I hate driving during peak hours, I don't have problems driving during peak hours. Just not this evening when the car didn't listen to my control. Despite other drivers might hate you, it is nothing wrong to drive slowly (perfectly legal). However, the car could move at 50km/h for about 500 metres then it might suddenly stop, usually the maximum speed was around 30km/h. One way or the other, I had to get back home. Called Laurent while I was in trouble, all he said was try to get home safely. Which did not help much. I managed to get home safely with a big detour as I needed to avoid busy main roads. I did not need to call NRMA. It was the first time that I could not control the car at all (okay, could only partially control the car to be more exact), and it was during peak hour. Today was a bad day for me, and no cars for the next few days. On the bright side, I got a new backpack. I will post about my new bag next time. Updated (5 April 2008) The car was fixed on Friday morning. Geez, it's not cheap to fix the car. Posted by Antony on 2 April 2008 11:54 PM
