29 February, 2008

here endeth the dilemma

On Tuesday afternoon, I went ahead and bought a Crumpler bag. It is a laptop/photo back bag. The size of the bag suits 15-inch MacBook Pro. That night, actually, Wednesday morning (Australia time), Apple released new MacBook and MacBook Pros (see: MacCentre701 report)

MacBook Pro 15-inchOn Wednesday evening (actually 1am Thursday morning), I placed my order on Apple Store and ordered a replacement laptop for my almost 4-year-old PowerBook G4 (12-inch).

My 12-inch PowerBook G4 has been a great companion for the last 3 years and 10 months. It is still a great machine, running well, and of course it is not as fast as Don's superfast 64-bit laptop.

Also, today is 29th February, the extra day for leap year. Today is also the end of the wettest summer in 45 years. Sydney has been hit by 15 storms since 1 December (2007). The stormy summer did bring some good news, twelve months ago, the dams were all time low, just 33.9%, and we now have 66.4% capacity.

Visting Sydney? Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. Starting at 7.45pm from Hyde Park.

Finally, I'd like to thank Jack Lin from applewoods.org for the specs on the (then) upcoming Mac products. Those specs were extremely accurate.

And here starteth the impatient wait. Stay tuned for the exciting arrival of Apple products.

Congratulations on your latest foray into the world of commerce. I am sure you paid top dollar for your new Mac and made them very happy.
As for "Crumpler bags", just another overpriced label obsessed item?
There is a saying in the remote village, "a fool and his money are quickly parted", I think this may apply here. Amen.
