Enchanted Wide Conversion Lens

Firstly, I'd like to thank John W. and Rev Dr Wu Yi for giving me two movie tickets. I watched Enchanted movie with Laurent tonight.

Enchanted is a loving homage to many classic Disney animations of yore. All the references to fairy-tale stories (mainly Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast) and the motifs were included magically. It is also interesting to note that the animation is the traditional animation (2D) instead of today's computer-based 3D animation.

Sony Wide Conversion LensAfter the movies, we drove to Circular Quay to take a few photos to test out the Wide Conversion Lens I bought before the trip. I've used the lens before to take some shots, and a comparison of my untidy-room. I decided I got to find a good view for the comparison shots.

(Perhaps I should use white background instead.)

Sony Wide Conversion Lens (VCL-DH0774) is not 'enchanted', but it is 'physics'. It allows me to shot even wider angle pictures, it is practically useful when I can not stand further back due to the location.

So here's the comparison of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, from Circular Quay.
Normal (without zooming):

with Wide Conversion Lens attached (no additional zooming), taken from the same location:

Although the additional view is not that exciting, you should be able to get the idea of wide conversion lens. (Perhaps my messy room with wide conversion lens would show more than the photos above, but it's simply too messy. I might show it sometime.)

My quick review on Sony Wide Conversion Lens (VCL-DH0774):
It's good quality, and is useful for a number of situations. The problem? it's rather heavy. Once you install it, the centre of mass is shifted to the lens section. And it's not cheap. Lucky I got 20% off the RRP AU$279 when I bought it.

Yet another gadget Antony? We are pleased you enjoyed a movie with our compliments. Also that you could enjoy a 2D Animation of old, instead modern of day, and in our opinion, not as good, technology.
No doubt your new lens will assist with your already excellent camera skills.
