it's good to be back

I've been away for 8 days Central West NSW trip with Laurent. It's good to be back.

A quick summary about the trip: brilliant!
However, you don't have Gloria Jean's Coffees every town, and it is even harder to find Wendy's (ice cream). And for small town, there are more churches than shops/stores. There are towns with population less then 500, they don't have any supermarkets, but they have three (3) churches (Catholic, Anglican and Uniting).

To me, surviving with food (supermarkets) is far more important than the religion.

Major places visited during the 8-day trip:
Penrith - Katoomba - Lithgow - Bathurst - Orange - Blayney - Carcoar - Cowra - Forbes - Parkes - Dubbo - Gulgong - Mudgee - Portland - Richmond

Total mileage: 1560 km.

My trusted PowerBook G4 (12-inch) did a great job for organizing photos and notes each night for me, however, a wide-formate laptop would be better. Somehow I must admit that working on a 12-inch laptop without a mouse is a kind of pain since I'm just so used to 24-inch screen on my iMac. Yes, I am thinking about getting a new laptop to replace my aged PowerBook G4. I will see what Apple releases tomorrow (MWSF08)
