Wild weather: The severe weather causing havoc along Queensland's southern coast shows no signs of easing. It also reaches all the way down to New South Wales, almost every beach from Coolangatta to Coffs Harbour are closed. Bush fire in WA, a truck incinerated while trying to push through a bush fire, 3 men were killed. 2007 ended with 43˚C, heatwave stretched across to Adelaide and Melbourne. Australian convicted terrorist David Hicks was finally a free man on 29th Dec 2007, after 6 years behind bars. He has been held in Guantanamo Bay since late 2001, and transferred to Adelaide Prison in May 2007.
