Christmas tree
I don't usually decorate Christmas trees, but Laurent insists me to do so.
Laurent decorated his with gold this year, I re-arranged it slightly. I wasn't going to put the Christmas tree at all, but decided to set up one just few days ago (that was less than 1 week to Christmas.)
Laurent does have quite a few ornaments, but not enough blue. I spent Saturday and Sunday hunting for blue tinsels and blue baubles. I managed to get one extra blue tinsel and 40 blue baubles.
The blue tree on the left is decorated by me, and the gold one is by Laurent.
I am cheap on colour, and I don't have any Christmas lights on. (I refuse to use multi-colour lights on the tree, the single colour ones are sort of expensive in comparison. I might buy some white Christmas lights on Boxing Day if the shops give discounts.) (To Don, this shall read: Antony is poor.)

Try to get the single colour lights at the sales.
About a week before is the right time to put up a tree or even a couple of days before Chickmas Eve.
Father Chickmas would have agreed with your colour scheme.
