Just a quick post to mention about a new toy I bought, a soft box light tent for photography.

Lighting is pretty the most important part of photography beside knowing the basics and how to control the camera. (To Don: I can't afford using flash so I have to use other source of lighting.) Setting up a DIY home photo studio is not that hard, but needs some space which I don't have (To Don: I live in a showbox.). It can be as simple as one backdrop and one lighting source.

Since I am not keen on using flash (there are times when flash are good, but I tried to avoid using it), as flash will generally make the object whiter than it should be and create an unwanted white spot, I've been looking for some affordable lighting solution that can distribute light evenly. By a chance, "soft box" seems to be a cheap solution to me.

I spotted this photo soft box light tent in eBay. It cost me AU$19.99 for the light tent and AU$ 18.99 for postage. The postage is quite expensive I'd say.

What I need next are two desktop lamps for the lighting.

Perhaps I should've taken a better photo of this.
