there are times when two Internet connections are useful

iiNetSome of you may recall that we have two separate internet connections to the house. Laurent has ADSL2 internet connection from TPG, and I have ADSL2 from iiNet. Both connections are to the same house, we have two wireless networks in the house, and we are sharing the connection.

This morning, I noticed that I can't connect to SillyDog701. Don suggests me to use Laurent's internet connection. It works.

According to iiNet status report, the downtime was due to the international fibre break between San Jose and Hillsboro Oregon, due to an earthquake.

When most iiNet customers were unable to connect to international websites, I lucky that I can do so by quickly switching to another ISP's internet. This is the only situation to pay two separate internet bills in one house I'd say. Laurent will disconnect his ADSL once his contract ends.
