my new toy: paper shredder

Well, it is not a ‘gadget’ by any standard. It's useful to me. On Saturday, John bought me a paper shredder (as shown in picture below). Thank you John.

What do I need a paper shredder for? To prevent identity thieves. Nowadays it is just so easy to falsely setup an account or even take loans from private lending institutes and CentreLink (government agency), can you believe that? Few months ago, Sunrise reported that a woman lost her purse. Few days later, she received bills from CentreLink that she had borrowed money for emergency need as well as other private money lending companies. All they need is her driver's license, they don't even need to be looked like her.

A good news for this identity victim, she was not reliable for returning all the money ‘borrowed’ under her name. (She reported lost immediately.) However, she had quite a bit of paperwork to do.

Thank you Antony for mentioning my gift in your "amazing" blog. My re-cycle bin is now full of shredded paper after I processed 6 years of old tax paperwork not longer required to be kept by law. I now only have to keep the last 5 years!!

Thanks for the tip. I stayed up until the wee hours chunking and sorting all the crapola to be shredded. When I got to my Office Depot, not only was there no truck but nobody in the store knew anything about it.
