Freedom of speech in US?

In the country that is proud of freedom of speech, a student was arrested during a question and answer period when he asked Senator John Kerry a question.

Andrew Meyer, 21, a University of Florida student from Weston was stunned with a Taser and taken to jail on Monday. According to video, he was arrested half way speaking without giving reason before arresting.

The police said he disrupted an event with U.S. Sen John Kerry and refused to leave. The incident was caught on video, which has since been distributed on the Internet.

In most civilised states, Police are required to provide reason(s) before arresting. Shame on those censoring police. At least, those police are not as aggressive as George W. Bush's secret service agents who carry the power to shoot anyone.

updated 6.20 pm According to tonight's National Nine News, the police used shock guns on Andrew Meyer with more than 50,000 volts. The students want Andrew's charges dropped, and police being charged with assault.

To be fair to Police and John Kerry, Andrew Meyer did not use the Question and Answer period for asking a question. However, the aggressive and excessive force used by Police were captured by video and spread online.

Andrew Meyer is a young American student expressed his political view and wanted his country to be better. He was tortured by Police. Shame on police.
