A state of emergency has been declared in the US town of Blacksburg following the country's worst ever massacre. At least 33 people dead and 15 injured after a 23 year old South Korean born Seung Cho, a student of English and a cold blooded killer, opened fire at Virginia Tech University.
Three elderly men a woman are dead and another 22 residents are ill after salmonella swept through the Broughton Hall nursing home over Easter.
