The famous Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade is on this Saturday (3rd March 2007).

British actor Rupert Everett has been named the Chief of Parade for this year's Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

If the weather is good, I might go up to Oxford Street for photo shooting.

British actor Rupert Everett has been named the Chief of Parade for this year's Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

The parade, now in it's 29th year, makes its way from Hyde Park in the city through Darlinghurst in Sydney's east on Saturday March 3.

Chief of Parade is the honorary title given each year to a high-profile member of the gay and lesbian community to promote the values of Mardi Gras.

Everett openly declared his homosexuality at the risk of his career in the late 1980s and has worked in high-profile roles as a leading man.

He has starred in My Best Friend's Wedding, Shakespeare in Love, The Next Best Thing and The Importance of Being Earnest as well as penning two novels, Hello Darling Are You Working? and The Hairdresser of St Tropez.
