EyeTV Diversity

EyeTV Diversity Many of you know that I bought an Elgato EyeTV for DTT (USB stick) last August. Since then, I started to watch TV in digital signal. Since I got my 24-inch iMac, I started to watch TV programmes in HD (high definition). The display of 24-inch iMac is capable of displaying in HD without scaling down. Some of you also know that I've moved recently. I decided to ditch my television, so currently, I can only watch TV on my iMac.

The problem is, I don't have access to roof antenna in my new place. I have to resort to indoor antenna. It works, but not as good as roof antenna. I have two solutions, 1) get a better indoor antenna; 2) use the diversity mode in EyeTV Diversity. In MacTalk (Australia), Descryption said that with two antennas, the Diversity mode did improve his signal a lot from 20-40% to 80-100% quality.

Last night was season 3 premiere of Desperate Housewives, and Academy Store had a ram raid sale party. I bought the EyeTV Diversity from Academy Store, and left around 7.00 pm, I was able to reach home before 8.30pm. How could I miss out Desperate Housewives?

I played the new EyeTV Diversity today, and I have to agree that "diversity mode" (using two antennas) does help a lot. Even now I am using one included mini antenna (the other one is an amplified antenna from Dick Smith Electronics).

Unlike EyeTV for DTT (Stick), it comes with a remote.

What can be better than watching Desperate Housewives on iMac?

I am very happy with my new signal quality, I won't have the drop out now. The only thing to do is to get proper antenna for the second plug.

As for my EyeTV DTT (Stick), I am selling it through eBay.

I have been able to get better results by putting the two included antennas on a biscuit tin! It's an old CB radio trick and it works!

Hi I also get a much better signal by attaching the aerial to a biscuit tin lid can anyone explain why :-)
