response over "obsolete/vintage"
Few days ago I mentioned I sold my Power Mac G4 (dual 1.42 GHz), I wrote:
SillyDog701 Moderator DJGM might've used the term "obsolete" [to describe Power Mac G4 I sold], but he calls his Power Mac G3 (blue and white) "vintage".
He responded in this post in SillyDog701 Message Centre.
No, the Power Mac G4 you've sold was far from obsolete in my opinion. As for my PowerMac G3, it isn't me that considers it to be "vintage". Apple officially classes it as "vintage". Same goes for my iMac G3.
Instead of making snide remarks on your blog, do your research. I did.
I just have a few things to clarify:
1. He did not call Power Mac G4 dual 1.42 GHz "obsolete".
2. I don't like the word "obsolete".
3. I did call his Mac "obsolete" once in pubic, he collected it to "vintage".
The reason I called his Mac "obsolete" intentionally was because I got sick of his usage of "obsolete" to describe older version of software a lot to new members.
