reverse Fetching problem?

ss_fetch5.jpg
Fetch 5 interface
I mentioned Fetch 5.1 in MacCentre701. It's a great software, I've been using it since Mac Systems 7 days.

With the new Fetch 5.1, I noticed that I've been having problem uploading large files with Fetch. It always stalls, and it usually stalls at (around) the same file size.

FetchI've always resorted to uploading large files via command lines, but then, I figured that someone else might also have the same problem. After some search, the solution is easy. All you need to do is simply turning OFF “Contact server during long transfers" option under Obscure tab.

Fetch Softworks said it appears to be a problem with a number of FTP server software that “contact server during long transfers” would cause problem. They will fix this problem in future release.

Screenshot of Fetch 4.0.3 running under Mac OS 9 (under Mac OS X's Classic environment actually):

Fetch 4.0.3 runs well under OS X (it runs under System 7 or above), but I forced Fetch 4.0.3 to run under Classic just for the fun of it.
