Last week on Fox River State Penitentiary, Michael tries, and fails, to delay Lincoln's execution by tampering with the electric chair. Veronica and Nick pursue an exhumation order for Terence Steadman's body, but did not win. Just when Lincoln was walking towards the chair, Warden Pope has a phone call from Governor Tancredi... He announces “The Governor has reviewed your case, fully. He’s not granting clemency.” Behind Governor's office, the Vice President creeps up behind him from the darkness, “You’ve done your country and your party a great service. It will not go unnoticed.”

Lincoln, who thinks he sees his father at the execution, wins a two-week stay when a judge orders Terence Steadman's body exhumed. Sucre calls in a favor to help Michael verify a new route to the infirmary through the complicated drain system.
